On September 18, we presented the “Gender Budget Analysis of the Program for the Activities of the Municipality of Brvenica in the Area of Local Economic Development – Energy Efficiency 2022.” in the Municipality of Brvenica.

The cabinet research showed that energy poverty is closely related to energy efficiency and particularly affects marginalized and vulnerable groups, including women, and women who are repeatedly discriminated against, such as poor women, women with disabilities, adult (old) women, and others. The trends in this area show that countries worldwide, even in the neighborhood, are introducing more and more measures and activities aimed at reducing energy poverty in their energy efficiency policies.

One of the main problems with energy poverty in the Republic of Macedonia is the inability to heat living rooms. In the period from 2010 to 2020, 23.6% stated that they could not heat their homes adequately, compared to the EU average of 9.1%. In this period, the rate was the highest in 2019, reaching 33.1%. In 2020, Macedonia ranked third (almost 24% stated that they cannot heat their homes properly and alone). Only Albania (35.8%) and Bulgaria (27.5%) reported worse situations in their countries (Eurostat, 2022).

The budget initiative prepared by financial expert Riste Jurukovski was also presented at the meeting. Representatives from the Municipality of Brvenica, the Council of the Municipality, the Commission for Equal Opportunities, as well as local civic organizations, attended and actively participated in the meeting.

The “Through Gender Lenses” project is financed by the European Union and is being implemented by the Center for Research and Policy Making in cooperation with the Rural Coalition, Roma Women and Youth Association “LULUDI”, Journalists for Human Rights, and Educational Humanitarian Organization – Echo.

Во рамки на проектот “Низ женски леќи: покревање на политики и буџетски иницијативи, следење на спроведувањето на локалните акциски планови за родова еднаквост”, на 18 септември, во Општина Брвеница беше презентирана “Родово буџетската анализа на програмата за активностите на Општина Брвеница во областа на локалниот економски развој- енергетска ефикасност 2022 година”.

Кабинетското истражување покажа дека енергетската сиромаштија е тесно поврзана со енергетската ефикасност и осoбено ги погодува маргинализираните и ранливите групи, каде што припаѓаат и жените, а особено се погодени жените кои се повеќекратно дискирминирани како сиромашни жени, жени со попречености, возрасни (стари) жени и сл. Трендовите во оваа област покажуваат дека држави во светот, па и во соседството во политиките за енергетска ефикасност се повеќе и повеќе внесуваат мерки и активности со кои би се намалила енергетската сиромаштија.

Eден од главните проблеми со енергетската сиромаштија во Република Македонија е неможноста да се загреат просториите за живеење.
Во периодот од 2010 до 2020 година 23.6% изјавиле дека не можат да ги загреат своите домови соодветно,, во споредба со просекот на ЕУ од 9.1% . Во овој период стапката е највисока во 2019 година и изнесува 33.1%. Во 2020 година Македонија се наоѓа на трето место (скоро 24% изјавиле дека не можат да ги загреат своите домови соодветно и само), само Албанија (35.8%) и Бугарија (27.5%) пријавиле полоши ситуации во своите земји (Еurostat, 2022).

На состанокот беше презентирана и буџетката иницијатива подготвена од финасискиот експерт Ристе Јуруковски.
Претставници од општина Брвеница, од советот на општината, од Комисијата за еднакви можности како и од локални граѓански организации присуствуваа и земаа активно учество на средбата.

Проектот “Низ женски леќи” е финансиран од Европската унија, а го спроведуваат Центарот за истражување и креирање политики во соработка со Рурална Коалиција, РАЖМ Лулуди, Новинари за човекови права и Едукативно хуманитарна организација – Ехо.
