The SMART Balkan project manager, Aleksandar Cekov, and the Executive Director of CRPM recently featured on Kanal 5 TV to announce and discuss the upcoming regional conference titled “Peace and Prosperity in the Western Balkans: What is threatening the region and how to advance opportunities” The conference is scheduled to take place on December 14-15, 2023, in Skopje.
This event is aligned with Specific Objective 2 of the SMART Balkans project, which aims to establish regional partnerships among civil society organizations from the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia) and their EU counterparts, along with public authorities. The objective is to facilitate collaborative relationships among CSOs, leveraging regional experiences, knowledge, and examples for joint advocacy towards governments and government institutions. The focus areas include policy development, social planning, and effective governance.
The conference is expected to contribute to the advancement of cooperative ties among CSOs in the region, enabling them to collectively advocate solutions to governmental bodies based on shared insights and experiences. The overarching goal is to foster progress in policy and social planning within the Western Balkans, ultimately promoting peace and prosperity in the region.
