The CRPM team took part in the Climateurope2 Festival in Belgrade, hosted by the Center for the Promotion of Science, under the theme “Empowering Society Through Climate Services.” The event brought together experts, policymakers, and innovators from across Eastern Europe to share knowledge and solutions for climate resilience.

On the opening day, CRPM and our partners from the Municipality of Ajdovščina, Slovenia presented the BEALERT Interreg project at the Festival Marketplace. We highlighted our joint efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and improve early warning communication in the region. Festival discussions also underlined the need for clear and consistent alerts across borders, standardized messages, and the use of all available communication channels — from SMS and apps to radio and TV.

On Day 2, our Program Coordinators Biljana Matevska and Ivana Petriskova hosted a World Café session to gather insights and feedback on the BEALERT platform. Participants shared views on trust in alerts, preferred communication channels, and ideas for improving early warning systems. Key messages were clear: people want trusted, simple, and unified warning systems, supported by education, awareness campaigns, and strong community engagement.

Our engagement at Climateurope2 confirmed that regional cooperation and citizen input are essential to building safer, more resilient communities. CRPM, through the regional  BEALERT project, remains committed to advancing early warning systems that deliver the right message, to the right people, at the right time.

BEALERT is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA ADRION programme.
