School of Public Policy Mother Theresa: Call for Women Leaders in Just Transition

The Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) is opening a call for School for Women Leaders in Just Transition. The School is part of an initiative aimed at strengthening the role of women in just energy transition processes and local development in regions affected by the transformation of the coal industry.

The call is published within the framework of the Women-Led Coal Transitions (WOLCOT) project, supported by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and imaplemented by CRPM Consulting in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).


Eligible applicants include:

• Women aged over 20 and not older than 60 years;
• Women activists from civil society organizations;
• Women entrepreneurs and women who want to start their own business;
• Women employed in the public sector and local self-government;
• Teachers, educators, and community leaders;
• Female students and young professionals;
• Women who want to actively contribute to the development of their community.


Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Gain knowledge about just transition policy making;
• Learn about climate change, energy transition, and the green economy;
• Develop leadership and negotiation skills;
• Learn public advocacy and communication techniques;
• Connect with experienced mentors and experts;
• Network locally, nationally, regionally, and globally with women leaders working on just transition;
• Develop their own local development initiatives and receive mentorship for participation in decision-making processes;
• Participants who successfully submit their initiatives will take part in the Council of Europe’s World Forum for Democracy in 2027.

Previous experience is not required.

The programme will be implemented from September 2026 to November 2027 through:

• Interactive trainings;
• Practical workshops;
• A mentorship programme;
• Networking with national and international experts;
• A final leadership project.


Participation in the programme costs MKD 24,000. Fellowships-Scholarships for women from the municipalities of Bitola, Novaci, Mogila, and Kičevo are provided by the EBRD.

The costs for organizing the trainings, working materials, and refreshments are covered by the organizer.
