Objective: To create the ground and conditions for effective use of energy at local level through increased understanding and cooperation among local government units, business community, public and other relevant stakeholders.

Specific objectives: To raise awareness and understanding on Energy Efficiency and climate change issues by promoting best practices and initiatives for action at local level with the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.

Activities:

– Needs Assessment of the situation at all levels – from policies to actions at local level;

– Increasing capacities of local stakeholders: trainings and workshops;

– Establishing Local Platforms for Actions and one Regional Platform for Action;

– Organizing a Regional Conference in Korca

– Preparing and Organizing a Regional Fair in Bitola

Expected results:

• Increased capacities of 4 municipaties (Korca, Pogradec, Bitola, Kicevo) and other local stakeholders on EE issues and across borders;

• Platforms for Actions Established among local stakeholders and across borders;

• Established a long-term dialogue among all local stakeholders on EE issues and its implementation at local level;

• Increased awareness of all local stakeholders on EE issues and its implementation

EUR 207,558.40,-

Implementation period:

13.12.2013-13.06.2015 (18 months)

Local government representatives (municipalities of Pogradec, Korca, Albania and Bitola, Kicevo Macedonia); business sector; media; civil society;

Final beneficiaries:

All strata of the society, communities of Albanian and Macedonian regions and public at large;
