As the lead partner of the Gender Budget Watchdog Network (GBWN), the Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) proudly joins over 100 civil society organizations and experts in urging the European Commission, European Parliament, and the Council of the European Union to ensure that the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) — the EU’s long-term budget — actively promotes gender equality across Europe and beyond.

As a regional leader in gender-responsive and participatory budgeting, CRPM is committed to holding governments accountable and ensuring that public money works for everyone — especially women and marginalized communities.

We call for the next MFF to:
✅ Set clear and measurable targets for financing gender equality
✅ Require gender-responsive budgeting in all EU-funded programs
✅ Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and transparency of gender equality results

Why does this matter?

Because gender equality is more than a human right — it is a smart investment in inclusive growth, sustainable development, and stronger social cohesion.

This joint call builds on CRPM’s longstanding work in the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe, where we support civil society in:

  • Monitoring public budgets
  • Advocating for gender-sensitive policies
  • Driving evidence-based reforms through gender budgeting initiatives
