The Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM) has formalized key partnerships with the municipalities of Gostivar and Shtip as part of the Guardian Shield project. Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed on October 16, 2024, in Gostivar and October 18, 2024, in Shtip. These agreements mark a significant step toward fostering local resilience and creating frameworks to address radicalization and prevent violent extremism. Guardian Shield, supported by Hedayah’s STRIVE Global Program, focuses on operationalizing a referral mechanism designed to strengthen collaboration among local institutions and support individuals at risk. The MOUs outline the roles of municipalities in integrating the mechanism into their communities by engaging schools, healthcare providers, police, social services, and civil society organizations.
This initiative is about equipping communities with tools and partnerships to address challenges proactively. By building capacity and creating clear path for cooperation, we aim to support local stakeholders in making their communities safer and more cohesive.
The signing ceremonies highlighted the shared commitment of CRPM and municipal authorities to promoting social cohesion and resilience. By ensuring collaboration and equipping communities with tailored tools, the Guardian Shield project aims to serve as a model for inclusive and sustainable prevention practices.
