Analysis of Gender Balance in the Agricultural Sector in the Republic of Macedonia

This study wants to fill the existing information gap on the role of women in the agricultural sector and to provide quantitative and qualitative data for formulating sound gender mainstreaming policy in this sector. The analysis shows that the status of women farmers in Macedonia is unfavorable. While women are very much involved in the farming activities of their families, their contribution is often undervalued, they are not considered as equal members of the farming community, hence not invited at trainings as often as men and insufficiently involved in the decision-making bodies.
