On the 7th of November CRPM had a promotional event where the policy brief on the Development of Functional Media Institutions in Macedonia was released. A representative of the RRPP in Macedonia, Ms. Slavica Indzhevska joined the one of the co-authors of the brief prof. Zhidas Daskalovski in discussion of the media development in the country since independence. Professor Daskalovski presented the work done within this project and the main findings from the study co-authored with Ms. Tamara Markoski Dimitrijevska, a doctoral student at the University of Central Florida. The main point of the brief and the much larger policy study, that the media assistance to Macedonia was effective in helping establish media outlets, capacity building and legislative drafting, was underlined in the presentation of the brief. Moreover, the problems in the media sector of politicization, a process which has not been effectively addressed by the donors in Macedonia, have also been put forward in the presentation of the policy brief. Following the presentation of the policy brief there was intense discussion on the effects of the media assistance to Macedonia and more generally over the state of affairs in the media sector in the country.

The promotion was well attended with representatives from the media, the business sector, civil society, academia and independent researchers.
